This page somehow fused with the Shimafuwa comic sub-page, so I’m going to roll with it rather than waste any more energy trying to figure out what happened. Anyway, the Shimafuwa comic is one of my favorite illustrations and one of the stories I hope to make into a children’s book someday, so I guess it works.
Here’s the Shimafuwa comic in English and the original Japanese! The original was created for a training seminar at the elementary school where I used to work, and I pride myself on having been able to complete it in the allotted time frame (2.5 days). The English translation was a present for the other English teacher at our school, Megumi.
