My dream for Okinawa, Part 1

I hate driving.  Why aren’t there trains in Okinawa?  Sure, we have beautiful beaches, flowers, and warm weather… but every time I get stuck in traffic driving to and from work, I can practically feel my brain rotting and precious minutes of my life being wasted away.  If only I were on a train, I could be DOING something with that time, like studying kanji, typing keitai mails, or sleeping.  Doesn’t anyone else feel the same way?

This little train is visiting from Tokyo as an ambassador to help rid Okinawa of the need for driving.  (He’s modeled after one of my favorite Tokyo express trains – guess which one? – but more general in shape and pattern, since he represents all trains.)  See how there are no power lines above him?  That’s because he’s solar powered.  (He can store up a bit of energy for use after the sun goes down and early in the morning, then recharge during the day.)  Rody interpreted this picture as depicting my train character Sen-chan having fun at the beach, not carrying passengers, so I suppose if you’re one of those people who are too lazy to do the walking that comes with the territory of taking trains and you like that interpretation better, go with it!

Unfortunately, this is a B4 sized canvas and was too big to scan.  Boo.
